A detailed tour of my house during the Peace Corps in Mashobeni South, Swaziland. Excuse the cheesiness...This was originally intended for my folks at home in the States. (And note the computer - I had electricity part of the time). I lived in one of several buildings on the "homestead" of a widow and her grandchildren.

  • @doveomnom I served in AmeriCorps after college, but my roommate and several people served before college. Whatever you decide to do you will find other people in a similar situation as yourself. I wish I had signed up before college looking back because I would have liked some experience in a field before spending all the time and money on college. AmeriCorps has such a variety of programs that you can gain some experience and it can help you decide what you might want to study, My .02.

  • You should look into Americorps if you want to help, but don't want to leave America. They work with habitat for humanity and other organizations. I have met some people in the program and they love it. Thinking of going in myself, but am not sure if I should go to college before or after.

  • Form you're opinion on what you truly figuered out is fact, not on what someone tells you is fact cuz then you'll have all your facts wrong.

  • My point is you should hear all sides of the story from every country before you go to war...

You're 15 and this is the best time to put you're foot down and question authority, you're old enough to think for yourself instead of being indoctrinated by politicians and media (who work hand in hand). Don't let anyone brainwash you, and read more books. It's for your own good.

  • That's fine but you should never judge anything or any country in this case, when you've never been there yourself. Piece of advice, since you're so young you should probably seriously think to do some traveling when you get older you would learn a lot from the world. And i would seriously do my homework on the Peace Corps before joining because everything you see on t.v. such as politics and 'protecting your country' is bull when you're fighting on the devil's side

  • Sorry, I wasn't trying to come off as ignorant or a know-it-all if it seemed so. Of course I don't know as much because I am 15 and the only other country I've been to is Mexico. But I do hope to learn more and I do want to join the Peace Corps.

  • but Europe for example, people are much happier with life and MUUCHH healthier, content in general, population as a whole (in any european country) are much smarter because the school system is different. Europe is only an example. I find North American's who talk as if they know everything about the world only because that's what they see on t.v. are real DUMB (brainwashed by news and their own gov't) if you disagree with me the only way for you to understand and know is to see it for yourself

  • there are many undeveloped countries that have houses that are better looking then the USA...

and then there are people who live in very poor built houses shak-like and you probably feel sorry for them when you shouldn't, because they live a much happier and simpler life...

You wouldn't know this because i doubt you've traveled or lived elsewhere but the US or North America,

  • Exactly bananaboo87. Of course she doesn't have all the things we have in more developed countries like USA, she is in Swaziland. Some people are such numbskulls.
