  • I think you would still be very wary of a Tiger tank even if you were going up against it in a British Challenger 2, American A1 Abrams or a German Leopard. I think its 88mm gun could take out any other tank from 3000 yards.

  • @Blabloo72 Thats an interesting point, could the 88mm penetrate the modern reactive armour.

  • odd question but... is that a real tiger o_O? or is that one of thoughs FO tigers like in saving private rian that was built to look like a tiger from something els O_o? it looks a little off...

  • @fro16883 This is a real one captured in WW2, a shell hit it and jammed the turret, so the crew abandoned it, but didn't destoy it the allies captured it and sent it back to England.

  • @Wonkabar007

Is the leopard in the video a modern version, or the one in the german blueprints from WW2?

  • @randomperson2538 I think its a restored original from WW2

  • @SUNSETRETREATSXM I fully agree - perhaps this is a project for Adam Savage and Mythbusters. Thumbs up if you want Mythbusters to get into this by popular demand!

  • @Dolomite78 Are you sure on the 1600 yards bit? - every account I read talks about 3 miles or just under and that's why Shermans were hopeless against it.. The 88mm in the Tiger was an amazingly accurate, rifeled weapon that sent out a projectile that gave you a bad day beyond words.

  • @Blabloo72 if you were using a normal shot then no but if you were to use an AP round then maybe

  • @Wonkabar007 remember, it doesnt have to penetrate the armor! The shockwave itself will take out the crew, and bending armor will eject splinters into the interior, which is LETHAL! The modern armor aint working against anti-tank shells once it is in a shorter range. It also depends on how the shell hits the tank, see this; the - is the shell the / & | is the armor when it hits the armor shif like this, -/ it needs to penetrate or bend more, as when it hits straight like this; -|
  • @Wonkabar007 *sent it (?back?) to England??

    LOL

  • @Wonkabar007 I think that it still would cause pretty much damage!!!

-I would not like it to be inside the modern tank when its getting shot by a tiger...

In Iraq the US lost a few tanks with that modern armor, caused by just as strong explosives as the 88mm used...

  • naja ich hab was unanständiges entdeckt

  • @Wonkabar007 Nothing really can penetrate modern tank armor (leopard, abrams etc.) with 1 hit.

  • @Blabloo72 one things sure, WW2 armors can't resist HEAT ammo.

  • @Wonkabar007 That i would like to know.

That is a good item for the Discovery channel.
