This is revisiting a design that was one of my first here on YouTube!
This video shows an alternative way to create the same effect of fading or gradient nails.

  • so you actually don't have to wate at all, for a colour to dry, or?

    really nice tutorial!

  • Nope you don't need to wait!

  • where would be the best place to buy cheap base coat/colour from? anyone reply to this please if you know, thanks xxxxox

  • Your drug store would probably be the cheapest (or Wal-Mart). I think Wet n Wild makes a base coat that will run you are $1. Not to mention BOGO's for Revlon--get a color and a base coat for the same price! Sally's also has a huge variety ranging from very inexpensive to expensive.

  • Can we use any sponges or just those kind?

  • Yup! You can use any kind. I just thought I'd share these because they were a great deal. They are cosmetic sponges and I am pretty sure that they sell a version of these at all drug stores. BTW these work great for applying foundation too!

  • Question: Whenever I do my nails, I get too much too easily and it's cakey and it slides around when I hit it do you know how I can avoid this? It seems like in any video I watch (not just yours) people are putting coat after coat and when I do this it gets gooey.

  • @tarynstaycute lol a reply 10 months later, anyways try using nail cuticle treatment, then massage it (helps blood circulation) if you want to use a cheaper alternative then use olive oil. And file your nail parallel to your nails it makes it thicker at the tip so it doesn't break.

  • I find the smooth makeup sponges to be the best for doing this because it doesn't come out as textured or clumpy :)

  • My nails are very thin and can't seem to handle being long. What advice do you have to make my nails stronger and be able to grow longer?

  • ok, thanx =)

  • AMAZING LESSON, THANK YOU!!! I have a peacock feather tattoo on my hand, and I did a metallic olive (OPI "At Your Quebec and Call") into an emerald metallic into black, and I wish I could post a pic b/c it looks incredible. Thank you!

  • this looks awesome! great job!

  • i love how you explain things ! thank you!
