Do psychedelic drugs have the ability to increase or expand intelligence? What is the difference between multi-state versus single-state intelligence? Why is it important to think about thinking; and what is placebo ability?

Thomas B. Roberts (Ph.D. Stanford) investigates mindbody states for the leads they provide for learning, cognition, intelligence, creativity, mental health, psychological processes, and abilities that may reside in them as portrayed in his book Psychedelic Horizons. He specializes in entheogenic (spiritual) uses of psychedelics and is the editor of Psychoactive Sacramentals: Essays on Entheogens and Religion. His online archive Religion and Psychoactive Sacraments http://www.csp.org/chrestomathy excerpts over 550 books, dissertations, and topical issues of journals. First taught in 1981, his course Foundations of Psychedelic Studies at Northern Illinois University is the first such catalog listed course worldwide. He originated the celebration of Bicycle Day to commemorate Albert Hofmann's first intentional psychedelic experience.

  • The word psychedelic is an English term coined from the Greek words for "soul," ψυχή (psyche), and "manifest," δήλος (delos). A psychedelic experience is characterized by the perception of aspects of one's mind previously unknown, or by the creative exuberance of the mind liberated from its ostensibly ordinary fetters. Psychedelic states are an array of experiences elicited by sensory deprivation as well as by psychedelic substances.

  • when I see the word "psychedelic", I also see the word "hope".

The answers we seek for physical health as well as mental health r in nature, and in ourselves. I understand the brain/dna decodes/creates this sub-virtual-reality we call the "physical world". Mental and "material" concepts need to be removed in order to access "higher" planes of existence/states of mind.

Problem is, many will use this knowledge to control and manipulate others, or only for their own benefit.
