We took apart the iPod touch 3rd Gen and found a space for a camera and 802.11n! Visit http://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/iPod-touch-3rd-Generation/1158/1 to view the disassembly in greater detail!

  • opening an itouch is probaly harder than juggling its fucking tiny

  • To whoever says 3rd Gen ipod touch's arent out. The only difference is the writing on the back. 2nd gen had like 5 lines, 3rg gen has only 2. I think thats the only way you can tell the difference. Hope this helps! :)

  • @skateabuga Not true. I am sitting with a 64GB 3rd gen right here on my desk wondering how the ferk to open it. Fully legit Apple product.

  • this is a shit video...

  • it's not a camera place. It's a speaker place

  • @MarcM457 third gen's only had a 16 and 32 gig model. they had an 8 gig model that was EXACTLY the same as the 2nd gen 8 gig so that doesnt relly mak a difference

  • @ijaa11880

Your iPod just needs to be connected to iTunes. But that usually only appears if you have just reset you iPod.

  • does any one now how to fix a ipod touch 3erd generation well the screen is stuck on a usb and a arro twords a itunes icon if you can help contact me at325 763 4466 thanks

  • The digitizer side cracks easy like an egg,so does the lcd,so buy these parts before you try open

  • I was hoping for a real video, not a shitty slideshow :/

  • No 802.11n, but 802.11g, have one myself.

  • Just bought an Apple Ipod Touch 3g 32 gigs for parts or repair for $25, hardly used but the docking connector will need to be replaced and from what I have seen it's not as simple as replacing a cracked digitizer, it involves desoldering and soldering which I don't mind, I can't seem to find the connector part anywhere but U.K and China. I also bought another 3g 8 gig for parts that has a good connector any chance i can just use that one? Any idea what it will run to get it fixed by pros?

    Thanx
