Finally, Guitar Hero-ic Game for Actual Guitar

Button-pushing rock star wannabes now have a tiny glimmer of hope thanks to Disney Star Guitarist. The game uses an actual guitar with color-coded strings to teach aspiring guitarists to learn new songs, while still featuring competitive game modes.

Not a bad idea for beginner guitarist. teaches them how to make chords (unlike the one finger GH). Even veteran guitarist could learn new chords other than the basic 4 or 5 most guitar players use. Computer analyzes sound (like a tuner) to determine that you played each note or chord right. Wonder how much JUST the software will be so I could hook up my Jackson KE-2 and maybe get my son more interested in learning

@wWdirtysanchezMm the guitar works as a normal guitar as well, but i still partially agree as this may teach you how to play select songs, but it wont give you ear training, teach you music theory or show you how to improvise. And if they've built features into it that incorporate those aspects, well i never though id say this, but well done disney.

I am so going to buy this, I tryed playing the guitar but got bored, and I love guitar hero, so now I can learn while I play, seriously are people that fucking retarded that they can't understand why this is usefull with the above scenerio that I layed out.

For 200 dollars you can just buy yourself an ACTUAL guitar and learn from scratch like everyone else does. Ok, after you buy this you learn how to play the guitar, etc. You're still gonna have to drop another 200+ on a real guitar. So why not just buy an acoustic, and learn how to play like the rest.
