Campfire Waltz

Photos by Doris Garling taken in the Rocky Mountains, except a few of the sunsets. The sunsets--that do not include mountains--were taken in Oklahoma. Music written and performed by Dave Stamey. Dave was voted the Western Music Association's (WMA) 2007 Male Performer of the Year and the 2007 Songwriter of the Year.

@elkboy2 yes, Dave has a beautiful way with words. When I first heard this song, I could just see all the places I had been in the west (as in my photos in the video) & could imagine dancing on that "pine needle floor."

I had the good fortune to meet Dave and his wife at a concert in Mesa, Arizona in January, 2010. Whenever I share Dave's songs with people, they go, "Wow, how come I never heard of this guy?". I have a feeling Dave likes it that way. His followers are those who truly appreciate western music. This song has been added to my repertoire..

Beautiful, peaceful song. One time on a cold rainy night, I turned the lights down low, put this song on the stereo, and danced with my lady in the living room.  We imagined we were out by a campfire under the night sky. Very romantic. Try it sometime. Your lady will fall in love with you all over again....
