Eyewitness News becomes The News as a fire nearly destroys their entire news studio and set. For the time being anchors will now anchor from the newsroom until either a new studio is constructed or their current set is repaired, either of which will take a very long time to occur. Here is the full coverage by WABC covering themselves! In case you are wondering all regularly scheduled programming has been restored after going off the air for nearly 3 hours this earlier this morning. This is Part 1 of 2.

  • By 1am that morning, Channel 7 began to show the 10pm(pt) West Coast "feed" of "BROTHERS AND SISTERS", followed by a complete "WORLD NEWS NOW" broadcast {with a first hour repeat from 3:30-4:30am}, then the regularly scheduled "AMERICA THIS MORNING" until 5am.....

  • Thats right.

  • @tmisch64 Cablrevision, Comcast has the custom color bar.

  • I hear that they were pulled off the air. Did they come back?

  • @obg7320 It's because there was a fire and it damaged they're regular news room.

they tell you more about it in the video 11PM after the fire.

  • For being in the number one news market in the country, WABC's graphics sure are cheap and small market-like.

  • when was this?

  • I got dizzy watching the ticker at the bottom...

  • From wikipedia:

Due to the fire, Channel 7 broadcast Eyewitness News from the newsroom's update desk, while Live with Regis and Kelly, whose set was also affected, shared a studio with Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. Starting with the 5:00 p.m. newscast on June 20, 2007, the station resumed Eyewitness News and Live... broadcasts from their main studios.

  • 2:02

  • It looks to me like Cox Cable.
