Man U and Arsenal were the only big teams when Evans was manager. Its tougher now. And we werent even close to challenging them. Liverpool finished 7th in Evans last season as comanager. Man U spend way more on wages than Liverpool on the likes of Rooney, Evra (urgh), Nani etc. And Suarez is our best player.

I am also one who has been thinking our position is mostly to do with the fact we carnt finish chances - but then ive heard and definetly believe that - whereas we create chances - they are not clear cut - as the other teams city, utd, tootingham etc are - thats why we not higher up in leauge. I think lfc need a top dm, an awesome rw and a top young and upcoming striker - and yes we need an old lb - bring back aurelio his crosses surely will get carroll firing - enrique is a waste in the final 3rd - 4 sure he may be better at the back - but at anfield were we most likely than not gunna be pushing up all game surely aurelio is better equipped player.

@woody8878, its the same year and year out, you can't beat the easy teams like what United does. It's also the same thing your out of the title race by new year's. You play United tough, you beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge usually, but you can't beat easy teams like Blackburn or Fulham or even Wigan! Your not consistent and no matter how many players you get until stop sucking in Nov and Dec and actually beat the lower tables team you will not be better than United.

Here's the thing Scousers that's been true for the last 20 years except in 2009 and 2005. You spend a lot of money to get players, then you do well in the beginning, then you tank in Nov and Dec and your out of the title race by New Year's. It's true. You can play us (United) and Chelsea and Arsenal tough, but then you can't beat easy teams like Blackburn, WBA, Fulham, etc. It's fact and yesterday you had many chances to beat Blackburn, but it didn't happen.

as a newcastle fan i cant thank u all enough for buying carroll and enrique also u have spend 75 mil on 3 english players who dont even get in england team regular for money u spent could of got podolski shaqiri even di maria or kaka but u buy english players for english manager king kenny cant cut it he needs to go if u want to remain a big club

@remymartain yeah we play good football most of the time but the players lack quality. look at united, city and spurs. they play good passing football and have much better quality than liverpool have. no way would players like downing, henderson, carroll get into those teams because they are so average.
