  • Hello, you have very good descriptive skills with this big 400. I think one must be a pretty good player simply to control this very powerful guitar. I personally love the L5 for all around sound and ease of playing. I assume you are German and I applaud your knowledge of the Gibson and it's many different personalities. I have an Epiphone Byrdland Elite but would prefer of course to own the L5. Thank you again for the nice demo and info session. Bob Greene

  • @tuglover2robert Thank you so much. I guess it's a long search for the right guitar of your personal choice. I think a Byrdland and an L5 are two very different guitars: Not only the sound but also the string tension gives you a completely different feeling.

  • Yes! Philip has recorded with many people but I think that he plays at his best together with Chet Baker and Jean Louis Rassinfosse. Smooth like a chameleon. Two of these albums really stand out. Hard to find ones on CD. One album is called "Chet's Choice" and the other album is nameless and only has the names and photo of the three of them on it. First track on that album is called "crystal bells". If you can't find them, then let me know. I'll help.

  • @yellowbird28 That sounds super interesting. I'd love to hear it. But I can't find it - neither one. So, if you have an idea . . . I'd really appreciate it.

  • @yellowbird28 I checked everyplace - but I can't find those cds/recordings. So if you have any idea please let me know.

  • Cool man. Guitar sounds awesome. I like your timing. Do you ever listen to Philip Catherine?

  • @yellowbird28 Thanks, man! Yeah, I like him. I don"t have much music by him though - any recommendations?

  • Philip has recorded not so many solo albums, but he recorded some incredible stuff with Mr. Chet Baker and Jean Louis Rassinfosse on Bass, just with the three of them. If you have the possibility to listen to the album "chet's choice" and for shure a nameless album with just the names of these performers on it, starting with the track "crystal bells", then do it. Philip is like a chameleon. Most tracks have been recorded in one take. Both albums took an afternoon to be recorded, but they are st

Thanks so much - I like this one, too. The guitar was very inspiring...

  • You were tearing it up, my friend!!! Yet another great guitar and another great clip. Love your playing.
