  • wow interesting

  • @thorzo90 Most likely when the price:capacity ratio becomes a bit more desirable. Right now, HDDs cost about $.20-.25/GB (sometimes even less if you buy them in huge capacities), but, even at their largest capacities, SSD's still run about $1.75-2/GB at the inexpensive end. Most consumers don't want to pay upwards of $1,000 for a 512GB SSD when they can find a 500GB HDD for $60, or even more so, a 1TB HDD for $80, 2TB for $140, and a whopping 3TB for around $210.

  • If I could make a quick correction: the video stated that you could get a 2TB HDD for $300 in 2009. However, even when the first 2TB HDD was released in 2009, the original price was $219. (And now, 3TB HDDs are about that and 2TB's are only $120-170, depending on their RAID configuration and whether they are USB 2.0/3.0/eSATA).

  • SSD and hybrid disc will replace the hdd in the future, but when?

  • Would the RAMAC 305 fit in my digital camera?

  • Great video and great use of music.

  • Rodime was Scottish...

  • wow if i could get with all my hard drives back into the times where they were produced i had a lot of money... i have some st-251 and many other vintage hard drives
