I appreciate Teena;
I went to her show in Philadelphia with Frankie Beverly and The Whispers, She came off the stage and into the crowd. She was the least bit worried of being harmed by her fans....Security was all around her, but she let them know that she wanted to be among those who accepted her in their neighborhoods..Teena wrote the lyrics to the Whispers song "Butta" Girl, you have an amazing spirit!

Teena is the most beautiful person I've ever seen with my eyes closed............ I've loved her seriously since I was listening to her music with my mother in 82, 83. This is when I my mother got me a superman pajamas set with the white feet, yaknow. This just brings back my innocence. When my mother used to listen to this I just used to feel so much love inside me to give. I used to go by the speaker and act like I was telling a girl how much I loved her, kissing her.

This song is absolutely beautiful! I think tomorrow morning I am going to walk along the beach and play this on my Nano; with memories of my Mother (R.I.P.)running through my head.

Cant you all just listen to the song without debating on selfish things. This is just silly.

@rufus317 Why doesn't it make sense??Teena Marie, a white woman, was abandoned by her own mother and raised by a black woman in the black culture - hence her choice in music - it was her culture.

@sloansv Ok. I was gonna sit quiet but just because one person tries to correct me does not mean everybody jump on the bandwagon to put my mistake on blast. Since you're trying to prove me wrong, now I have to correct you. Teena's mom never abandoned her. They lived in Venice Harlem California which was a mostly black population. have you ever ate a white chocolate candy bar? Vanilla on the outside and chocolate on the inside.
