ok so what if purple=5 seconds and green=10 seconds. the guy in the back has a 50% chance of living, so he picks a color and sees the color of the guy in front and if it is purple he waits 5 sec to say a color and if it is green he waits 10 sec. meanwhile the guy in front will have to count the seconds the guy behind took to answer and then the guy in front counts the seconds and gets his answer and so on. thats my solution.

@uda911 it would still work. no 10 'says' he's seen an odd number and no 9 see an even number so knows he's green. no 8 then knows that no 9 saw an even number but he sees an odd number so says green. no 7 then knows that no 8 saw an odd number but he sees an even number so says green. no 6 then knows that no 7 saw an even number but he sees an odd number so says green etc etc

my problem - why is it only men that have been selected to represent the human race?
