Knife part is awsome, if you have enough practice to tell that u r skilled in this ( and I dnt mean doin a video with fast moves ) then its really awsome. As for the standup punching, I think there are some moves that you shouldnt perform in a real fight unless u r bruce, and since u r not I wouldnt recommend them, being specific I mean all the moves where you crouch under your opponents legs and lift him. U could be finished with a head choke.
No, isnt for sure Jun Fan Gung Fu, but a mixture of styles. I didnt see Jun Fan structure on the entire clip and Kali drills with knife, silat, etc is nothing to do with JKD or Jun fan
Any style takes time to get good at, even JKD. But it cuts out the tradition to get to the nitty gritty. Start there then add stuff as you go along. The whole purpose of JKD is to find what works for your specific body and style.
JKD is the philosophy. It's actually a "free form" philosophy of approaching martial arts, taking in all practical styles you can and throwing away what doesn't work well with your body type. There are schools of styles based on this principal, which is where Jun Fan originated (being Bruce Lee's original style). And you're definatley not going to become skilled overnight.
Is this actually Jun Fan? Because alot of this looks like some of the foundations of Jun fan but with new styles and techniques in the mix. I noticed alot of Sambo Spetsnaz in the ground work, I'm not sure about the disarming techniques (the locks make me think marines or Krav Maga, but I don't want to assume the latter), but the kicks definatley look Savat like I'd expect from Jun fan. I also see Silat, boxing, Muay Thai, and Wing Chun in the punches and elbow. Actually looks really good.
it's not choreography. Similar in theory, but it's not to make a prearranged exchange of moves to make a dance. The first part are sparring drills, training the body to react to certain situations and pull off the set strikes in succession. That's where the similarity ends. The body reacts to it without thinking. The second half looks like it's just free sparring.
Wow that's amazing. It looks like something out of an action movie. Is Jeet Kune Do practical and fast to learn to become at least a basic self defender for adults who don't have much of a MA background? Cause I heard Karate / Aikdo / BJJ takes years to become practical at.
Demos are OK but how about some free fighting.
