Fish, EEL, and Crayfish Traps

Made at home with a few used items that most will find easily ..

In time of emergency, or drought of money, we can find some fresh food '~)

All you need is the following ...

24 Inches X 24 inches of half inch chicken wire-mesh

Quarter inch Mild Steel rods.. from an old cloths horse

18 inches of 6 inch Lead Flashing

18 x 1 & a quarter inch Wooden Dowel .. cut from the wild

1. Colander, plastic or metal

1. Chip-Pan wire basket

1. Wire Coat-hanger for... "Removable End" locking Split Pin.

Tying Wire

Pliers

Wire Cutters

A vice if you have one .. if not use a round object as a former for end ring ...

Follow these images, and you'll have a trap in just a couple of hours ...

*** Cut A Length Of Mild Steel quarter inch rod To Create Strength ...

And A "Backbone" For Your Trap

Then Fix Your Chip Pan Handle At The Balancing Point ... Once your baiter is in the trap ..

Fix well to ends, and mesh, then, attach the handle from Chip-pan basket, which doubles as a tying point, while your trap is in the water

Lead Baiter doubles As Weight ...

Fold Your Lead .. With Dowel As Former ..

Punch a Few Holes In The Lead ..

Pull Out Dowel .. Cut 2 Short Lengths For Stoppers ..

Retain "The Thin End" Of Your Dowel Off-cut For Stopper Removal

Bait Obviously Is Placed Between The 2 Stoppers

Remember to empty your traps DAILY, if not more often ..

And return young, and rare fish to the water.

well my fish trap like that only coast 5 bucks, about as much as the materials you will end up using...

you know could of just used chicken wire for the whole thing and just used wire to tie everything tight and u could bue done in like 30 mins and they work great thats what i do
