@true0colors It's legal in the sport. They mutually agree to fight for various reasons: an opponent has made a big hit on a star/skill player, one team is far behind on the scoreboard and the fans and team are low on confidence. And sometimes, a new guy from the minors is called up to play and he wants to show his team that he will stand up for them. The players that fight get 5-minute penalties, then get back in the game. It's an important part of how the game is played.

@WilliamShannonStamey 1 fight per game considered rare enough ! that is HUGE compared to other sports ! , and what have they done to stop it ?! any sanctions, fines? like what happened to these two guys in this video?
-
@true0colors Fights are a lot rarer than most hockey non-fans realize. The NHL doesn't even average 1 fight per game. From the 70's through the late 90's, fights and huge brawls were more regular, but it's died down a lot over the past decade.

I miss Asham in Philly..

Not only is Asham a great fighter but hes a good player as well. He doesn't score that much during the regular season buts hes got speed and great hands. He also led the penguins in scoring in the play offs last year.

@true0colors hockey is a game of its own my friend. Fighting and hockey is like peanut butter and jelly. Hockey cannot be compared to soccer.
