500 Jobs, 8 Million Lives

On September 25th, Mayor Bloomberg intends to cut 500 jobs in childrens services. In this economic crisis, we cannot afford to lose essential jobs that protect the most vulnerable - our children.

Despite urgent warnings from experts, Mayor Bloomberg plans a massive layoff in childrens' services. Childrens services are now more important than ever before. The children of New York need your help. The loss of these 500 jobs on September 25th will affect the lives of all 8 million New Yorkers.

Mayor Bloomberg says he wants to create jobs for New Yorkers, but he is laying off hundreds of social service workers. Economic stress leads to increases in child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and homelessness. NY should be hiring more social service workers; not laying them off.
