From the Leon Russell Gimme Shelter double CD set The Best Of Leon Russell. (Sweet Home Chicago by The Asylum Choir) Leon Russell & Marc Benno, Irving Music, BMI Released: 11-15-1971
Those were some defining moments in our lives. 1968 was the year after I graduated from high school. I had a crush on Leon then and now that I think about it, I think I still do!!
Anybody know what Leon and Marc are singin' about? I do. He's talkin bout 1968 Democratic Convention -
The primary cause of the demonstrations and the subsequent riots during the
1968 Chicago convention was opposition to the Vietnam War. I'm still Tryin' to stay alive.....................and keep my sideburns too! This is one of his best ablums, and little known.
What year is the Panhead?

I have no idea what the hell motorcycles have to do with a great political protest song.....or Chicago for that matter.
