Just visited the Portland Sat. Market yesterday, I moved here recently from Eugene and im used the the Eugene Sat. Market.. but the P-town version is way more fun!
I think it was about 35 years ago it started. Modeled after the Eugene Oregon original Saturday Market which still operates also. I was at the very first one selling my metalart. It was just North of the Burnside Brigde then across the street from a store called the Emporium which no longer exists It was in a small parking lot about 50 feet by 100 feet long. Now it's huge and bustling. I plan on selling there this summer again. Hope it goes on forever !! Let's keep Portland weird !

Yep. Burnside bridge. I thought I could smell the food for a minute. LOVE the market. Wish I was back home.

It's under the Burnside Bridge at SW 1st Street. I should know, I used to work for Portland Saturday market.
