  • Also i find it funny how people who has no idea about vocals still say she can't sing.

Go train your vocals and then you will be amazed by amys voice.

When you know a thing or two about vocals you will understand why she sounds like she does and what effects it.

Funny thing is she sounds exactly the same as in studio only difference is her accent that makes it darker. She's scottish if she was brittish you wouldn't be here complaining.

Her accent rules though i love it

  • why are people complaining about her voice? When she plays it live, she accentuates her accent so the song displays more of its folk origins. Great song - studio and live!!

  • She is very talented..great song.....as an opera singer with a trained voice myself.... it sounds like she is swallowing her voice. Almost like she is trying to effect a male baritone quality to it. The studio version has her voice lighter and higher. Take another great artist..Elton John..he also sounds far different live. However..Sir Elton abused his voice over the years by not singing properly. But he still sounds great. My type of vocal training is different we dont use mikes!!

  • Does anyone know where I can find some info about her touring band, at least their names?

  • @bomdelux ok, we can agree on that.

  • @revilo178 aha, we are getting into quite the debate here. I'd say skills are something that anyone can learn (throwing a ball or riding a bike for example), talent is something which you are born with (music, arts, sports etc). I'm not selling her short there by saying she hasn't worked on refining her talent, but I presume singing, in some form or another, is a talent she's always had.

Either way,my point was, she's not the most technical singer out there, but her music is pretty good.

  • @bomdelux If by "talented" you mean skilled (I know I know, most poeple do) then I agree with you: an opera singer, for instance, has a better technique than her. But as you say, music isn't all about technique.
