UK Thames advertisements - Thursday 25th December 1986 pt. 2

I am gradually sorting through some of my ancient video tapes to log what is on them, and capturing some vintage clips whilst I do so.

Here is an advertisement break shown the British television premiere of the 'unofficial' James Bond 007 film 'Never Say Never Again' (1983), shown on Thursday 25th December 1986 (known in some circles as Christmas Day!). The adverts are of the Thames (/London Weekend Television) region.

Adverts include:
* Baileys Irish Cream
* Texas sale (don't worry, it's over soon!)
* Kleenex Tissues
* Nescafe Alta Rica & Cap Columbia
* Philips CD 650 (probably going for 50p at car boot sales now)
* Erinmore tobacco (in the days when tobacoo advertising was allowed)
* a Carling Black Label take on the famous Levi jeans ad from a year or so previously

I have also uploaded the other two ad breaks from the film.

I always remember that nescafe commercial from when I was a kid. I still love that song! La Colegiala by Rodolfo. Thanks for posting these great old ads. I have to capture and post some off of my old tapes as well!

Yes, that was the song used in one of the memorable Carling adverts. I also seem to remember the Kleenex advert. I think it was filmed in Italy probably because of the classical piece used. It was also used in the 1996 Heineken Export advert. Any ideas of the name of the classical piece?

I have to admit that I do like the smell of unlit Erinmore tobacco. Wouldn't dream of smoking the stuff, though.
