I knew Billie Holiday. The bass player in my band today worked with her in the 1950s in Philadelphia. She was always gracious to the musicians who backed her. As far as we are concerned, she was "Lady" Day in every sense of the word. And she could sing with the best of them even though her range was only 8 notes or so. Her inner beauty was apparent to all of us.

A man elected not for the color of his skin, but for his ideas, his belief in We The People. The President-undreamt of a few years ago. I am so proud Americans proved President Obama was not an anomaly -Pres. Obama RE-elected. No better validation. We have come a long way.
