My mother has a signed photo-print of Dinah from 1944 I just pulled out of a treasure chest and framed. It's nice to hear the voice behind the photograph. Very lovely.

A perfect voice......like no other......so smooth, with a warmth that can't even be described. Dinah's phrasing, dynamic control, voice slides and that vibrato, so quick like hummingbird wings flapping all together keep me wanting to listen over and over. I watched her Talk Show in the 1970's and she always left enough time to fit in one of her songs which delighted all. Dinah was such a kind and understanding person as we all saw when she had a very sick Rock Hudson on.....such good friends.

My father wrote and produced the first 163 broadcasts of Command Performance, U.S.A. He recommended that she change her hair color to blond. She remembered Dad on pg.251 of her book "Dinah."
