ORDER BEARINGS & SEAL & JOIN CHAT: http://www.hometask.com/washerrepair.aspx
Visit the page above to see a longer, more detailed version of this video. And, feel free to ask me questions about the repair through the chat group. I also recently created another video showing how to get the tank out of a front loader machine: http://vimeo.com/24810291
If, like me, you are disappointed to find out you have to replace the entire rear shell or tank assembly ($300+) just because the bearings and seal went out on your washer.
Because of this, I have made it easy for you to complete this repair. I know that you CAN do it and I hope you take this video as an encouragement to that end:) I have research the manufactures and found the correct seal so you don't have to search that down.
The appliance parts outlets will not sell this seal or the bearings. They only sell the entire back half assembly or rear shell assembly.

I was ready to pull the trigger on the bearings and seal from the referenced website. But, I got to checkout and discovered that the profit you make on the parts weren't enough for you. Excessive shipping costs were in play as well. Nothing turns me off faster than ridiculously high shipping costs.
61JWolf 2 weeks ago
@61JWolf Hi there 61JWolf - Sorry that it put you off. We actually just cover our costs with the shipping. It is terribly expensive to ship to Canada and even domestically we have significant hard cost in shipping as we do all of it priority mail. We also have a 24 hour policy so that the orders go out quickly. All of this costs money. We are doing this to help people. We know most have laundry piling up so we want to make it as easy as possible. So sorry it didn't work for you.

Great video. Very helpful. I had this very issue with my Frigidaire (gleh1642ds1).
Had 2 of the spider arms cracked. I put everything back as instructed. But now the washer does not seem to be cycling correctly. Moves very slow. This was not the original issue. Would you have any idea what this could possibly be?
splinky2 3 weeks ago
@splinky2 i would reach in and spin the basket to make sure there is nothing obstructing it. if not then i would check the wiring hook up for the motor as it sounds like the motor is running slow or laboring. if neither of those then i would check to make sure all the controls are connected properly as it may not be communicating properly. not too many factors that could be causing it so don't stress. you can figure it out!

you need a better cameraman/woman, too shakey and not close up enough
TheRealSergentSiler 1 month ago
@TheRealSergentSiler - Yep, you are correct. This was shot by my 8 year old son at the time and he did a wonderful job for someone with no experience. We have done additional videos since this one with more detail although the quality is still not stellar. We are considering doing a new video showing a bunch of detail from start to finish with one of these projects. If we get enough request for this then it will increase in priority elevation.
