Another classic from the first LP, "Frizzle Fry". This tune is fairly easy to learn, but very difficult to master because it is nearly impossible to play the main riff consistently throughout th entire tune. First there is the sliding chord, then there is the constant up and down the neck. The probability of hitting a wrong note increases exponentially as the song progresses.

I ended up playing this tune 6 times in a row because I wanted to incorporate a little distorted bass in the appropriate places. Turns out that my foot is not that coordinated for working a one-pedal effects processor. As a result, the one finger that I use to play inverted 5th chords got injured from repeated dragging on the strings. Flatwounds would work better, I think.

  • in oppening are u strumming or slapping what i play i slap but is strumming better?

  • Both. The chords are strummed, but the lowest note is slapped.

  • what type of bass is that it looks like the ibanez soundgear i just bought except mine is the five string version and with out the satin gold

  • It's a Schecter Stiletto Elite 4

  • Are3 you throwing in extra notes because at certain parts it doesn't seem to match. But still, awesome job!

  • Yes, I cannot help myself to the point where I improvise a bit each time I play.

  • Is he died?

RIP, i miss him too, he was a good bassist

but, is him using flat or roundwound?

  • rip ;(

  • Has someone died?

  • I miss this guy!!!!

  • about the hurting fingers heres a little secret, D'addario makes a long scale "half round" string isnt a flat round but is run through a string compressor. Smith alo makes a similar string called Smith compressor. they have more of a flatwound feel and afre really easy on the fingers especially ifv you're a hard working bassist. I have played every string under the sun and i'll nev er play anything else ever again. I affectionately call them my hot rod strings.

  • i have that same painting of king arther being knighted ...
