3.8 Mustang V6 vs 3.9 Lincoln LS V8

Start from a dig. Lincoln wins by about 5 car lengths. Naturally Aspirated V6 can't keep up with a Naturally Aspirated V8.

An automatic transmission sucks. If it were a 5 speed, he would of had more of a chance against that Lincoln. The 3.8 isn't that bad behind a 5 speed. Not fast but they can be pretty quick and respond well to a turbo. I've driven every mustang from the V6 model to the Terminator cobra... I can tell you there's not much of a difference between an auto GT and a 5 speed V6 (99-04 of course).

well duh the lincoln's got two more cyl. thats atleast 15-20hp per cyl.

well besides the slight difference in engine size the 3.8 was nothing more than an average compression family sedan and minivan engine. The 3.9 is a slightly higher compression premium car engine that makes decent power for its size. So of course the Lincoln had this race.
