A few people had voiced interest in hearing a mix of "Stay Young" from the 1998 movie "The Faculty" since it was a different mix of the song, so I decided to extract the song directly from the ending credits of the movie using Adobe Audition. I did a fade in at the beginning and at the end, but other than that the song is completely unaltered. It clocks in at 2:24 and is clearly a different mix than what is heard on the D'You Know What I Mean? single and The Masterplan LP.

For all those audiophile Oasis fans out there like myself who enjoy hearing different mixes of songs, this should be a treat. Enjoy!!

  • nice remix, but at the expense of my personal favorite lines from the original, "Feed your head with all the things you need when you're hungry, and stay in bed and sleep all day as long as it's Sunday". Some of the most positive lines, some of the most important words I needed to hear at a crucial point in my life.

  • lol told

  • this songm made me cry o_o

  • Solider On and Roll It Over, apparently.

The new Master Of The Universe has got a darker theme, and is similar to the Tim Burton Batman movies. Tim Burton stayed well away from the 1960s TV series comedy, and made it sinister (which was based on the assumption that most Batman fans were adults in 1989 when the film was made.)

The He-Man film is being aimed at the 30 somethings who watched the TV series in the 1980s.

And Oasis entertained the same audience in the 90s.

    Smart marketing.

  • A remix doesn't always mean making songs sound completely different and/or shorter or longer, sometimes the goal is how the way the elements in the track are mixed...some are louder, some are quieter, some bits are added, some are taken away... and yet the two tracks can have the exact same length. We are just used to the way remix has been abused by hip/hop and dance acts these days that make their remixes totally different sounding and change track lengths.

  • why did you say an oasis song will be in masters of the universe? what song?

  • Has anyone compared the version on the soundtrack with the version on "D'You Know What I Mean?" and "The Masterplan"? They're all 5:06. What's the likelihood of a remix being exactly the same duration as the original recording? My 2 cents...the version here sounds like the original but 10x shittier because of youtube's sound quality.

  • This is a good version, faster etc. But it's been mixed to satisfy US audiences, and lets face it, Noel has had a secret ambition to try and crack america - building Oasis themed hotels, lending his tracks to US TV adverts (Hung in a bad place was used to advertise womens underwear and Sitting here in silence on my own was used to advertise a greif counselling service in New York) - and Oasis songs will soon appear in the new masters of the universe movies which is still in production. Go Noel.
