AP Source: Mets, Bay Reach Preliminary Agreement

The Associated Press has learned the New York Mets and free agent slugger Jason Bay have reached a preliminary deal. The 31-year-old outfielder is expected to sign a four-year pact worth about $65 million. (Dec. 29)

so far, the Mets have had a fiscally responsible offseason. 2 high upside setup guys for a total of 5 mill for 3 yrs total. They got Bay at their price, got a really strong defensive C in Blanco for less than a mill, but still no starting pitching. Pretty good job so far by Omar, but ya gotta get us a SP for gods sakes! Also, do NOT go more than 1 yr for Bengie!
