Once again, boredom at its finest.

This is a little experiment that I've done a few years back which is to edit and customize Doom for the gameboy advance in every way possible. The following is a custom level that I did which was optimized and incorporated into the rom. Despite of its simple architecture, the level ran extremly slow.

I was getting close to porting Freedoom over (http://freedoom.sourceforge.net/) but lost interest afterwards and pursued other challenges.

GBA Doom is probably the easiest console-based Doom game to be edited and hacked as well as the Jaguar port of Doom (which is what the GBA version is based on).

I was also working on several toolsets for GBADoom hacking to the public but a majority of them were lost and some were halted due to lack of interest.

For those who are curious, the level (kaiser_2.wad) used for this hack can be found here:

  • Was that a loading screen I just saw...?

  • Yup. All console ports (except doom64) has a loading screen.

  • Do you have video of other hacks you've

shown at Doomworld (I mean psx , jaguar...)

  • Nope. Most of the hacks I did for the psx and jaguar are long gone. They're not worth demostrating on video anyways.

  • @sub2me4areview Well, he described the stuff required here: doomworld (DAWT) com/vb/wads-mods/38608-the-console-doom-hacking-project-console-specs/

  • @MGMan37

"And then John was a zombie"

  • How did you do this?

  • @Pokegod100

Considering this version is only meant to be seen on a small screen, it's actually pretty good.

  • Wow!!! good!!!

  • And I thought the SNES version was bad!

  • btw i bet the game would look great on a ds lite

  • green or not ...the game is good ....i had a lot of fun back in the day with multiplayer

  • Not to mention the player bleeds green as well.

  • I find it odd that they've tried to remove all the blood from the GBA port, but there's still a huge splatter on the shotguy's shirt.
