Has anyone else had a problem with their XPS M1330's screen? I have had 2 bands of blurriness going down my screen for the past 2 years. First it started with 1 band popping up and then goin away when I moved the laptop a little then it just stayed and now a second band is permanently there. And now everytime I try to move my screen or even just tap the back of it the whole right side goes crazy -- blurrying up the screen. I think this is a defect in the laptop and because my warranty has already expired Dell won't take back the laptop or check it out unless I buy a new warranty. They're trying to tell me they've had no other complaints about this happening to anyone else -- which I highly doubt. I've never dropped this laptop or sat on it or done anything else that may give this problem any merit. I'm a college student and thus can't afford buying another warranty. I just can't believe Dell won't take a look at this problem thoroughly. I'm fed up! I hear Mac's are great computers! Please reply with comments. I'm including a video of what happens when I move and tap the back of the screen. also notice the 2 bands towards the left of the screen that never go away.
my laptop is doing that right now id say 70 percent of the screen is completly unusable

It is more than likely a faulty or loose monitor cable. Have a person / friend who is a tech reconnect it. If that does not work, then check into the LCD screen itself.
Also, does this appear on first boot (before going into Windows) or only when in the OS? If it only happens when in the OS, check the video drivers....

Fuck! I knew dell never makes good products cause all they do is throw in other people's hardware and stamp them as Dell! You should all buy a Sony laptop! Acer is the same shit as Dell too!

It look like Ribbon Cable is loose not Nvidia chipset problem, and if you not luck enough is your LCD screen is gone.

i had the same problem and they had to change all the motherboard because the chip of the video (nvidia) broke down...

Looks like the problem is the ribbon cable that connects the screen to the gpu. Ive had similar issues with flip mobile phones. I think they get pinched when you open the cover and slowly get more and more damaged until theres problems getting the signal through it.

Mate, hate to agree with them but I am on my 2nd XPS as of the above problem. After 8mths I got the exact issue you have and they replaced motherboard and screen twice before giving up and giving me a new one. All good u say... No! the same thing has happened to the replacement just as it's gone 4 days out of warranty. I watched the guy take it apart and the screen clip to m'board is held on by tape, build qualtiy is shite and I will never by Dell again..
