  • Corzine sucks and if we lose the Property Tax Rebates I will not be able to take my kids on a vacation that we planned with the money

    Dump Corzine

  • If I can recall correctly, I believe the sales tax increase (1/2% or the 1% increase) was supposed to go to property tax relief. Where did that money go? Typical New Jersey politics. Don't forget to blindly vote your party line this November.

  • I don't think this has anything to do with party ideologies. Politics on a local level barely apply. Corzine is no democrat. Nor is Joe Lieberman or Mike Bloomberg. They are in their own world

  • I voted for this clown. He promised a 40% increase in my homestead rebate! Last year he took it away for families making over 75k, or pretty much every homeowner in NJ.

Apparently NJ, wealthiest state (per capita) 75k is "wealthy". Tell me who can afford a home here making less than 75k as a household?

Essentially what Corzine has done is eliminate the homestead rebate. I guess seniors who own homes and have low fixed incomes are benefiting but not many other people. F him get him out of here

  • The CRIME BOSS of Trenton Jon Corzine must be thrown out of office without delay before he bankrupts the entire State of New Jersey!!! And come November 3rd we WILL throw the bum OUT!!!

  • The money went to union bosses, state contractors, jobs for political buddies, the new Rutgers football stadium, and political contributors.

  • No one in their right mind says Corzine is perfect.

If the Republicans had put up a true reformer who would really clean up the systemic corruption, I might be able to put aside my ideological differences and support such a person; but that's not Chris Christie.

Yeah, we're in the "frying pan" with Corzine; but we'd be jumping "into the fire" with Christie.

We need radical change that makes pay to play 100% illegal and criminalize unethical behavior along with serious campaign finance reform.

  • Gov Corzine did in fact promise to DEDICATE half of the sales tax increase to the rebate and then gave the money to his state employee union bosses.

We can't just keep saying NJ voters this and NJ voters that, the issue is these people that vote for these same numbskulls need to get the facts before they walk into the booth and blindly vote these same ad hyped thieves back into office!

Wake up people the time is now to GRIP!!!

  • 5/20/09 Star Ledger

"Gov. Jon Corzine today defended his proposal to cancel property tax rebate checks for 1 million taxpayers, saying he believes the public understands "you can't spend money you don't have."

Making his first public comments on his decision, during his re-election year, to provide rebates to only senior citizens and disabled residents, Corzine blamed the brutal economy."

The economy has tanked because of Bush's policies.

Would you have him borrow and spend like Whitman?

  • I just can't stand how people only hear what is being said right this moment and fail to remember what was said a moment ago.

This is a great example of how (quite thankfully) at least a few people can remember what happened and what was said and hold a person accountable for actions committed in opposition to their statements.
