Scientists calculate Apophis asteroid to hit Earth 2029-2036

US and Russian Scientists predict Apophis Asteroid(99942) to hit Earth 100 kilometers west of california.
If the Apophis asteroid passes earth without hitting in 2029 it will change orbit and hit on April 13 2036.

@azzaman96 if we attach a nuke to it in 2013 when it passes by and detonate it when its on the other side of the sun it cant be so dangerous for us. also these news broadcast is highly excessively since this one will create something like 500 megaton while the one 56 million years ago made a blast of 100 000 000 megaton (100 terraton) and this width of this aestroid is barely half a km. + we got ALOT of years on us to redirect this ting using rockets.

Apophis is covered in highly explosive material, so sending a nuke to destroy something explosive, isn't very smart. But I guess its (at the moment) our only option.
