Here is a video review of the OTC Genisys automotive scanner. This is one of the best scanners available. It is capable of scanning al Domestic , asian, and european cars made since 1981 up to the present. One of the great feature is it is capable of bidirectional testing. you can turn on your fuel pump etc to test them. Part 2

  • I have problem with my OTC Genisys, it starts beeping when Turn On and nothing from there, maybe you or someone out there could help me to solve this problems.

    Thanks.

  • @CHANYOMM I would try calling OTC.

  • How reliable is your classic.I purchased evo 4.0 6 weeks ago and it crashes every time I use it, the printer function is for obsolete printers, And the battery goes dead in three days with the tool off,and tech support says thats how its designed? and every one is pointing fingers at every one else to help me. They even want to charge me for a loaner while they fix the brand new one that has not worked right from day one. Hows that for customer service.

  • @wolffer0 I had a problem with it communicating with some subaru vehicles so I sold it. I called SPX and they wanted a lot of money to "Fix it" Never had a problem with the battery. I got the feeling that there customer service was not good also.

  • hi i wan to ask what means bi directional testing?

is it like you can torn on and of cars components?

because innova 3160 say it can to that so is it means that you can torn on and off fan or fuel injectors?

  • yeah, bi-directional is the ability to send a signal from your scanner to turn on components.

  • I operate a smog shop in CA and bought a Genisys scanner. It does crash in the middle of diagnostics and/or it will display unreliable data. Lucky for me Snap-On is going to credit me every wasted dollar on this absolute shop killer scanner. I'm getting a Verus because I need diagnostic equipment that works. I also bought a Solarity Lab Scope with the Genisys scanner and its even worse. Poor wave trace display. Solarity isn't even good enough for home hobby shop use. You've been warned!

  • I have my own snap on modis and the shop I work for has that pile of shit. Half the time it wont communicate they come get me my modis works just fine. The genysis is a giant pile of shit OTC can stick that up their collective asses!
