Sorry but this isn't a live version: the band are obviously just miming to the song -the single version of happy when it rains, mixed with slightly louder guitars. The guy miming the drums is Dave Evans who was actually playing rythm guitar during the Darklands North American tour. Yeah, hard to believe but when the Mary Chain toured to promote Darklands, they were using a drum machine.
Please don't take this message the wrong way: this is still great footage -gotta love Jim's shortish haircut

hurts the end :/

ha ha i already fixed the mistake, but thanks, and there's no reason for me to be mad :D

it's certainly not live, Jim is fucking with William's guitar and it sounds exactly the same

don't worry i have no reason to be mad, it doesn't make this mix else awesome :)

That clip of yours is still very rare. The Mary Chain were quite popular in continental Europe round 1987-88, there was a lot of press, etc, I used to be a diehard fan so that's why I know a lot about that era. Er... Also because I'm such a sad old bastard. But around the world, there are a lot of sad old bastards into the Mary Chainhanging roung Youtube and we're quite a nostalgic bunch, so you'll get a lot of views in the end!
Apparently, the Chain were banned from the Roxy after this performance cos the bloke who presented it thought they should've been more smiley and that Jim should've made more effort miming. The long-haired git. This is a clip I've wanted to see for years. Well done fella for posting it.

Hi. This performance is taken from a programme called "The Roxy", ITV's equivalent to the BBC's Top Of The Pops. The version they are miming to is the LP version.
