In Orthodox theology (and Catholic theology for that matter), the fall of Adam is, truly, a loss of redeeming grace. It's caused by Adam and Eve's rejection of God's grace through their disobedience and disbelief. And to reattain this saving grace, we neither perform good works nor believe in Christ. But God gives this grace freely, through the sacrifice of the Cross, and we accept it through our belief (faith) and obedience (good works). So we are not "saved by faith alone", but by God's grace.

@panicatthediscotime Because in Mormon theology, God is not even God. He's just a super-human. Like Zeus, or Amon Ra. Except over the planet Earth, and not just an aspect of it.
In short, their faith is wonderful, their praxis is well-intentioned, and their commitment to the family is admirable (if a bit scary to a modern). But their theology is what sets them apart from Christians proper, as theirs is fundamentally different from ours.

You'll need to do better than that digestezine, cite your source for your claims. From a quick BoM check the word "Onandagus" does not appear in the BoM.

why did Joseph Smith name the Prophet Onandagus in the story of Zelph, after the county Onandaga NY which is near Palmyra NY ?
why did he use the name of New York towns and cities in the BOM? eg Angola was a postal station in 1820, named by the quakers because of missionary work in the Country of Angola Africa,. Is Angola a Hebrew word? is it Reformned Egyptian??
