@quedorf You can Google the word rapture with any random year placed behind it and find an end date for that year. Rapture 1992, 2008... just about every single year there's an archive of an obscure newspaper story somewhere of someone predicting the end was in fact, that year. Harold Camping is probably the best marketer of it ever, but some nutjob does it literally every single year in history & people still fall for it everytime. How can anyone forget Rev. Jim Jones & Jonestown? Never ends...

@vinbroccoli I'm not even sure if I would say Camping was the best marketer of this foolishness, or he just has more resources than most of the others. I just hate to give someone that crazy any real credit at all.

@quedorf True, more just the most wide spread is what I meant. The first to go viral really. I remember watching the Twitter timeline at 6:00 that day and the updates were by the second. It was unreal. There was a billboard probably not much more than 100ft from my house which is what pissed me off about it so much. 10 years from now people will have forgotten about it and do it all over again so I like to keep the memory of it alive and well.
