which swimming styles if done regularly will make you grow taller?

You know a video is good when you can watch it Japanese and understand everything in English. What a great swimmer and how about those flexible ankles. WOW!!!!

@timothyoborn we just got a swim lesson from an Olympic coach who said what you just said is old technique and that they're now finding that it's faster to hit with the back of your hand as she's doing and then turn your hand in the water. I would have thought you were correct before that. My kids have been dropping seconds and not tenths of seconds from their times.

her name is TOMOKO. not TOCOMO

wow! I knew very little about the backstroke. helpful tutorial. she looks ridiculously smooth in the water!! 上手だよ..
if she finished #4 in 2000 olympic games, i guess she swims better than most of people and that definitely includes you online experts.

you don't. There is no biomechanical advantage to making splashes, so don't focus on this. Concentrate on "pinky in first". Perhaps your instructor is seeing something and asking you to splash to overcorrect a very slow entry? I don't know without seeing your stroke.
