SEPTA Routes 101 and 102 also known as the MediaSharon Hill Line, are light rail lines operated by the Suburban Transit Division of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority. The routes' eastern terminus is 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania; Route 101 provides service to Media, Route 102 to Sharon Hill.

Along with SEPTA Route 100 nee Philadelphia and Western Railroad, the routes are the remaining lines of the Red Arrow trolley system once operated by the Philadelphia Suburban Transportation Company, (successor to the Philadelphia and West Chester Traction Company); some local residents still call them "the Red Arrow."

This route used 29 Kawasaki Heavy Industries Rolling Stock Company K cars, the same cars used on the SEPTA Subway--Surface Trolley Lines.

  • The chime is just outdated. It came with the cars as delivered in the early '80s. They should soon have the ADA compliant automated audio-visual stop announcement system installed.

  • I've taken the Route 101 to Media, PA, and it was a pretty nice ride. I kind of wish it had the interior of the PCC II's, though.

  • @timosha21 They need to fix those chimes.

  • wow that's one worn out do not enter sign at the end
