Managing water resources in England and Wales

Water is a precious resource. Parts of England have less water available per person than some parts of the Mediterranean.

The Environment Agency works to balance the amount of water available for people, the economy and the environment. We are working to ensure that water companies, farmers and industry do not take too much water from the environment.
