Wtf? The beginning of this is so wrong. The rest is great.
I expect I'll be rated down by fanboys for saying this but it's the truth no matter how you spin it:
Controlling the playback of a long sample through envelopes = BIG WTF.
You use LOOP POINTS for that (to set the start and end points of a sample).
The envelope is for adjusting the VOLUME pattern for the sample. The LOOP POINTS are for EDITING the sample.
What you're doing by using the envelope is removing the envelopes real utility.

I beg to differ, editing a sample is completly different than loop points. You would use edison for that.
Loop points are used when you want to loop or repeat a sample, hence the name LOOP.
ADSR is an envelope and as demonstrated can be used to make a sample play for a certain amount of time and fade.
