This is one of the best songs from the OK KAY...When this show was on Broadway Gershwin had the team of Victor Arden and Phil Ohman perform in the orchestra pit.

This video has no dislikes for a reason! :D

Good observation! Check out "The Half Of It, Dearie, Blues" elsewhere on You Tube with Gershwin accompanying Fred Astaire. He borrows some similar phrases from the Rhapsody.

3:05 is very similar to a measure in rhapsody in blue and Rialto Ripples. It's almost ghostly. It's amazing, it's like a signature or something

Man, Columbia really knew how to mike a piano in 1926! And you sir, you bring that sound back as though this was only recorded a few years ago, rather than several decades ago!!!

@KawhackitaRag Thanks. I'm not sure what technique was used in recording. This was a very early electric recording and most likely a single microphone was used. Too bad he left us so few recordings as a performer.

My fave song by Gershwin..... he is my piano role-model and I enjoy his works very much. I love his classical and his jazz, and I listen to him every morning when I get up. It is the first thing I do!!!!!

@MarvinAndBazooka Thank you for watching! Gershwin is one of my favorites as composer and performer. I have 22 Gershwin compositions on my channel. Check my "Gershwin Playlist"

Interesting. I wonder what's the catalog code for this one, though.
