This is a deleted song from Mulan. It's sung by Mushu, and was going to be right before she went and posed as a boy. the first part is also cut off, when Mushu sings, "You're headed for disaster, but I'm your one best chance". Sorry!

Personally, I really like this song, but it definitely doesn't fit in with the movie at all, so I'm glad they cut it out.

I don't own this movie, Disney, or anything else.

Yeah, i love this song, but i think the jazzy style doesn't fit in with the musical theme. I'm glad they didn't put it in.

But... just out of curiosity... what was the extra scene in the special edition...? I haven't seen the original in a while xD

The extra scene? Like where this fits into the movie? It's right after Mushu makes his first appearance with the whole fire and smoke trick.

You know how in the special edition disney dvds they usually have another scene? Like in the lion king it was the Morning Report scene and in Beauty and the Beast it was Human Again? Was there one for Mulan?

yeah...i think it would have been totally out of place in the movie [since it's very asian, you know?] but i love the song anyways!

I love how everyone who says the song doesn't work for the film gets thumbs down. Seriously, as much as I like this song, it just doesn't work. Every other song in the film was meant to fit ancient China. This one just doesn't. I like the song, but I understand why they took it out: It just doesn't work for the film's theme.

actually there was an extra non-musical scene that was cut out. here we see mulan meeting the parents of a potential husband, and we se where she`s presented to her potential in-laws. after comming to agreement where she`s basically sold of for some farm animals, she meets her future husband by accident. he then says something really stupid and she walk away. i`ve been lokking for that scene online but have had zero luck so far.

This is why I don't want Mulan on Broadway... they use this in the stage version high schools and middle schools put on called "Mulan Jr". It isn't awful, but it doesn't fit at all.

went into production right after don't ask don't tell. That's probably what killed the song. ^^ so glad that's over with!

I agree, it doesn't mesh with the other songs at all. Maybe this was an early concept song (before they decided on a quasi-oriental motif for most of the musical numbers)?

I tried imagining Eddie Murphy singing this, but all I could think of was PARTY ALL THE TIME!!!
