This work is part of the current haptic/ surgical simulation project (Augmented Reality Simulator for Needle Biopsies). In this video, we demonstrate the physical mode of operation of the surgical kiosk developed by ARMLAB. In this mode, the sensorized needle (needle and finger force transducers and motion capture markers) can be used to conduct needle insertion on physical biopsy phantoms and the corresponding force-motion profiles (called "hapti-grams") can be recorded and studied for each expert / trainee surgeons.
