this is basically the Game Gear version of Sonic imported to the SMS. It isn't made from the ground up like Sonic on the Genesis.

No, it doesn't have a better frame rate. This is in your head. The emulators run at EXACTLY the same frame rate the old actual HW did.

To me, the game is all that matters.
I don't care what sort of box is in front of me, and it doesn't matter if I'm looking at an LCD screen or if a CRT is blaring radiation into my head.
If I want a CRT look, I add scanlines.

That's the video card capture utility you're seeing.
I'm always shocked to see people complain about emulators being inferior because if I just took an original console, gutted it, put in a Atom based board, installed a TV out video card, and turned it on, you'd NEVER be able to tell it was an emulator and not the real thing.
The SMS runs at 3.84 Mhz. You REALLY think a 2 Ghz system can't keep up?

Your emulator? I think NOT!, it's nothing more than FreezeSMS
So stop trying to claim it's your work and the ROM since the ROM comes with the Emulator.

Framerate is alot worse on the emulator. It's alot smoother to play on the master system.

why? wheres the difference? arguments? I grew up with master system and sonic and I downloaded this fusion emulator and played sonic today and I cant remember it being any different
