"He [Wilson] diverted responsibility from himself and his false charges by claiming that President Bush's closest aides had engaged in an illegal conspiracy. It's unfortunate that so many people took him seriously." - Washington Post, 8/31/2006

Fact is there were no weapons of mass destruction. No nuclear warheads, no chemical weapons. The UN weapons inspectors did a very thorough job, and Bush knew it. It's just like the claims that Al Qaeda was there, mostly fiction with only small traces of anything that appears truthful. The world has been deceived and hundreds of thousands have lost their lives. Perhaps there was some justification for invading Iraq, but basing foreign policy on lies and deception has proven costly for all.

"Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife." - Washington Post, 8/31/2006

"It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is untrue...it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson." - Washington Post 8/31/2006

Libby lied so we will never know the truth. You can say it was all Richard Armitage, but how will you ever know with Libby lieing like that. Keep in mind that this all started because Wilson blew the cover on Bush's claim that Saddam had nuclear weapons. I think it was a John's Hopkins study that reported as many as 650,000 people have died that otherwise would not have as a result the U.S. invasion of Iraq. Going to war on a false pretense was and always will be bad policy.

Wilson admitted to lying before the U.S. Senate when questioned under oath. Moreover, the yellow cake claim in all investigations has been proven to correct - meaning Wilson lied about that, too. The whole thing was a lie.

I really appreciate your intelligent contribution. It's done a lot to clear up why Al is so obvioously misinformed on our law. GHWB said it was treasonous and therefore punishible by death to out the identity of a CIA agent. Deal with it you fucking turd.

But they didn't out a CIA agent, so the point is moot. Deal with it - the facts contradict your little fantasy. Also, thanks for posting this video - Al Franken was asked on CNN about having made these remarks and he vehemently denied he ever made them - your video proves (once again) he's a liar.
