i taped this episode last year and couldn't believe how good this stuff looked. and later on in the week, Paula Deen made one and it didn't look nearly as good. In fact, it looked raw.

It's a Cajun seasoned version of an old German recipe I 1st encountered in a 70th anniversary cookbook from Luchow's in New York. August Luchow brought the recipes & chefs from Germany with him. They make a rich version of this that goes back God knows how many years.
