20100117 - How to kill a tako: Part 2

When picking up tako it is a good idea to kill it before putting it on your stringer because they can rip themselves off. I usually turn the head inside out and remove the organs, but decided to kill it more humanely by biting it between the eyes for an instant kill. Biting a tako between the eyes can be risky because it can grab a hold of your mask and pull it off your face, which is why it is a good idea to shake it a few times to disorient it first.

I used to turn the head inside out, but it is pretty difficult with larger tako and takes more time. Biting it between the eyes kills it instantly.
