This is me, EARLY one Sunday morning. I had NO idea it would end up on Youtube like this, but I'm glad people are enjoying it. I wanted to do more but we were under strict guidelines at the time. My voice is in the movie as well, in the detention scene, a song called "Breakout". I was also in all the background vocals for the movie and was on the Today show with Elijah. All the "Seaweeds" support each other. LOL! Thanx for the positive energy.

Hairspray is great!!! (not the movie) Best music, wants to make me get up and dance... no matter what song!

The movie isn't the original. Even the broadway shows etc. weren't the original, there was a film before them

You have to remember this was about 3 years before the movie was even being made, so there was no elijah!

The composers of this song (and musical) said they got the idea of this song from a book on black slang. They found the phrase, five on the black hand side, and the rest is history.
