Junya Nakano *ala FF10 wiki* that's kinda why the music sucked in 10, the soundtrack for this game wasn't horrible, just had a bunch of I guess you could say 'recycled material'. I'm thinking mr Nobou got tired of doing the games music strictly by himself..hence why he didn't do any other ff game strictly by himself ;) but hell with 140 tracks can't complain too much XD

oh breath of fire...I can't tell which is worse on encounters FF1 or that but yeah it's odd why that cave has so many encounters

I will say there does seem to be a spike in the encounter rate here...really you get into more battles here then anywhere before

i find that noubou got a little lazy with this game and FF-X becuase i found that so many times in the game he uses the main theme in another tune or a diffrent tempo...
If you know anything about music it isn't laziness, it's because this game already has over 100 tracks, and it's also to symbolize the progression of the game, hence why there's 3 variations of Beatrix's Theme when something is happening involving Alexandria.

Yeah, that happened in my Breath of Fire playthrough, too. When I reached the Cave of Light and Dark, the encounter rate just spiked like crazy.
And Dave, if you think running from enemies in this game is hard, you need to try it in Breath of Fire. I forgot why I was trying to run, but I kept failing, so I just gave up and fought.
