13th Annual "Barking Spider" Mountain Bike Race

I shot this while riding my first mountain bike race. I used a Canon Powershot digital camera set to video mode. I mounted it to my handle bars using a headlight mount and 1/4" bolt & wingnut with a washer as a platform for the camera. The vibration was quite loud so I had to turn the audio down during editing. I came in 25th Place in the "Beginner" category. April 12th 2008

Hello Kevin, you did a good race, the road looks very nice. Everything looks so dry just like here. 25 th place it's very good for a first time :) i go to compete just for fun.

What size resolution did you set on your cam? 640x480, 320x240 or 160x120? I used my Nokia 6220 cam for my clip but it sucked. Will try my Powershot soon. What size memory card?

Alex, The camera was set to the highest rez 640x480 and 30 FPS. White Balance was set to "auto" At that rez I can get about 56 min. of video on a 2GB card.

I'm not happy with the "Pixelation" that occurs during upload to YouTube. I've been playing with different compression formats but no luck getting rid of it so far.
